Below are the consolidated DMOZ submission title guidelines taken from DMOZ website. These
title guidelines will help ensure websites submitting to DMOZ meets the directory's goals. The
followings are the compiled DMOZ Submission TITLE Guidelines.
What Title Should Consist:
- As what it appears on the actual web site
- Contain only the company's name or the title of the site
- Begin with capital letter for each word
- Use caps for a non-acronym
What Title Should NOT Consist:
- Contain descriptive information about the site. Descriptive information goes in the
description field.
- Written as the URL. The URL goes in the URL field
- Padded with a meaningless string of keywords. This is keyword Spam.
- Use "&" or "and" in the title field UNLESS it appears this way on the site.
- Use emphatic punctuation (the exclamation points).
- Only use acronym as title. Include the full form of the name followed by the acronym in ( )

Good Title:

Note that "GeekRights" also appeared in the description. It was removed in the "Good" example.

Bad Title:

Good Title:

Bad Title:

Good Title:
Simon Trpin - Medical doctor discusses presents his travels through Europe and Australia.
Note the change in description. Since the name was used in the title, it would be repetitive to include it in the
description.
